PEER is actively involved in EBM education for undergraduate and post graduate learners at the University of Alberta.
PEER focuses on providing residents with the understanding and skills to formulate clinical questions, determine the best resources to answer questions, access resources, quickly appraise evidence available and put evidence into practice. Residents take part in a 2-day Family Medicine Evidence Based Workshop as well as regular Brief Evidence-based Assessment of Research (BEARS) activity. Members of PEER also provide quarterly literature updates for the residents during their academic half-day.
Additionally, PEER provides EBM electives (or internships) for students and residents looking to expand their knowledge and understanding of research interpretation and evidence based medicine.
